In the middle of the Vietnamese jungle, Nelson Martin and his fellow Marines did everything to escape with their lives
It’s June 24th, 1969 in Khe Sahn, Vietnam. Twelve United States Marines, under the cover of night, settle into a bomb crater on an ambush mission. By 1:00 a.m., all is still. Four Marines sit awake, listening to the gentle breeze through the elephant grass surrounding them. Nelson Martin lays sleeping as a man slowly creeps towards him. Startled, Martin jumps up and recognizes his squad leader approaching. The silence is suddenly shattered by a pair of grenade explosions.
