Cyber Experts Say FBI’s Warning To Restart Router Is Serious – Alabama, United States

A warning from the FBI… Reboot your router to stop Russian-Linked malware. Hunter Hudson works for Threat Advice and he says everyone needs to take this warning very seriously. “Foreign cyber actors have gotten into hundreds of thousands of wireless routers and they have the potential to obtain a person’s information passing through so that is the real threat,” Hudson explains. The FBI says restart your routers to block hackers from getting your precious information. “If someone has access to your network they are going to see any information that you are passing through,” he explains. So banking information, health records, anything they would need to steal your identity. The FBI also suggests that you check for any updates your router may need. “Take the router information and you can go online and put that information in and see if there are any updates available,” Hudson states. Cyber experts say turn your router off and back on and also change your WIFI passwords after it is reset.

Former CIA Spy Accused Of Selling Secrets To China Claims He Was Freelance Triple Agent – United States

Kevin Mallory, a former CIA officer, admits he met with Chinese spies. He admits he planned a covert meeting with one of the operatives, that he handed over U.S. intelligence documents and that he accepted thousands of dollars. Federal prosecutors call it espionage. But the Virginia man, who for years held a top-secret clearance, says it was no crime. He contends it was a ruse intended to out the spies to U.S. authorities. On Tuesday, Mallory goes on trial in federal court in Alexandria, where a jury will decide which story they believe. Mallory, 61, of Leesburg, is a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker who spent two decades working in U.S. intelligence. Public defenders Geremy Kamens and Todd Richman say he used that experience to ensnare two Chinese intelligence operatives who approached him as staffers for a Shanghai think tank. “He sent what he thought was worthless information to keep his Chinese contacts interested in him until the CIA would meet with him,” the defense attorneys wrote in one court filing.

British Interior Minister To Discuss Russia, Terrorism On U.S. Visit – United Kingdom and The United States

New British interior minister Sajid Javid will travel shortly to the United States to discuss threats posed by Russia, international terrorism and organized crime with top U.S. officials, Javid’s office said on Tuesday. Javid will meet U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and other officials over the coming days in his first trip to the United States since being appointed on April 30. “Top of the agenda will be cementing the leading role both countries play in tackling international terrorism, serious and organized crime and the threat posed by Russia,” a British interior ministry spokesman said. Britain’s relations with Russia are at a post-Cold War low following the poisoning of former Russian double-agent Sergei Skripal in the English city of Salisbury in March. “In the wake of the Salisbury attack, (Javid) will seek a coordinated approach against the threat of hostile state activity including targeting illicit finance and cyber attacks,” the spokesman for Javid added.
