Bank of America and G4S Argentina recently recognized eight of our employees for supporting a group of U.S. high school students and faculty who were involved in a deadly traffic accident.
The June 17 accident involved 10 students and two faculty members from Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group was visiting Argentina on a Spanish language immersion trip. One student died in the crash, and several were injured. Another individual died in the accident, but was not associated with the school.
It didn’t take long for news of the accident to reach families in North Carolina, and less time for G4S leadership in the United States to hear that it involved children of employees of longtime client Bank of America.
Knowing our global reach and capabilities, Bank of America personnel reached out to Secure Solutions (USA) President Drew Levine, asking if we could deploy resources to assist.
Having just boarded a plane around midnight when he got the call, Drew relayed the request to Eddy Esquivel, Senior VP of Operations & MCLA for G4S Latin America & Caribbean. Eddy contacted the G4S Argentina team, who immediately jumped into action. The team provided security and around-the-clock assistance to the students at the hospital and relayed messages back and forth between families and medical personnel.
“Essentially what we did was support the students on the ground, letting them know we were there for them, and that they were not alone,” Esquivel said. “Our Argentina team ensured they were safe and got the support they needed until they were released from the hospital and prepared for their safe return to the United States.”
Bank of America extended their thanks and gratitude to G4S, Eddy Esquivel and the following individuals on the Argentina team for supporting the students and their families:
- Maximiliano Lance, Head of Operations
- Marcelo Savuto, Operations Supervisor
- Roberto Marzoratti, Operations Supervisor
- Diego Berghella, Operations Supervisor
- Claudio Coria, Operations Supervisor
- Marcelo Diaz, Operations Supervisor
- Adalberto Corigliano, Security Guard
- Sergio Coya, Logistics Supervisor
G4S Argentina presented the individuals with a certificate of recognition and a letter of commendation with monetary awards from Bank of America during a ceremony on July 10 in appreciation for their outstanding performance, responsiveness and commitment.
