G4S Brazil Turns Aluminum “Pull Tabs” Into Wheelchairs

Since 2013, the G4S Brazil team has collected 1.5 million aluminum can tabs as part of a campaign to donate wheelchairs to four charities that assist individuals with disabilities.

The team places bottles at offices and sites, encouraging employees to put their tabs in and collectively make a difference in somebody’s life. For every 360,000 tabs, a wheelchair is donated. The first of four wheelchairs was donated in July 2015.

Graziela Rocha, who is leading the project for G4S Brazil, said: “It is fulfilling to be part of such a great initiative, to see the smile in each person who receives a donation. By collecting such small objects, together we are able to change the lives of others.”
